XFly
XFly v8.3 Released
Dear Users,
We have released XFly v8.3. This announcement covers everything we have added since v8.1, including the features that arrived with the version in between and were never announced separately at the time. All of it is built on top of the AI Persona we introduced in v8.1. The Persona is no longer only a system that runs your account: it is now something you can talk to, question about what it has done, and steer while it is running.
What's New and Improved
💬 Talking to Your Persona (New)
We added a chat tab to your Persona's own page. You can now ask it about its account directly.
When you ask, it goes and looks: at the home timeline, at incoming notifications, at a post link you give it, or at an account's profile. Then it tells you what it saw, in its own words. You can also ask about its own past — what it did on its recent turns, why it made those decisions, and how far its replies reached.
This conversation is read-only. Nothing is posted, nothing is liked, nobody is followed through it. What you write stays between you and your Persona.
📋 Giving Your Persona Instructions (New)
This is where the conversation earns its place. When you ask your Persona to change how it behaves — "stay off politics today", "don't reply until the restriction lifts", "write only in Turkish until morning" — it drafts an instruction for you. You edit it however you like and confirm it, and from its next turn the Persona works under that instruction.
Every instruction offers three lifetimes: just for today, for a set number of turns, or until you remove it. The turn option is for trying something out — the Persona works under the instruction for as many turns as you chose, then it ends on its own and stays in the list so you can see what happened. For a daily or turn-limited instruction the clock starts the moment the Persona first actually sees it, not the moment you confirmed it. So an instruction you give while it is asleep does not expire before it has ever been read.
Live instructions and pending proposals both appear in the list beside the conversation, and you can remove any of them at any time.
🧠 Lasting Memory and Self-Review
The Persona now keeps notes in its own journal about what it has learned: what worked, how it talks to whom, which subjects to stay away from. It can also drop a note it later finds to be wrong. You can read and edit that journal yourself.
At the start of every turn it also sees its own recent turns. That is what keeps it from replying to the same post twice, repeating the same sentence, or contradicting the decision it made yesterday.
📊 Reply Reach Measurement (New)
The Persona measures how many people its replies reached — and it does so by comparing each reply against the post it sits under. A reply under a large account and a reply under a small one are not held to the same scale; each is judged in its own context.
When its reach starts to fall it notices, and you can ask about it in the conversation.
▶️ Knowledge That Goes Stale
An AI model's knowledge freezes at a certain date, and from the inside it cannot tell which parts have since expired. So we stopped the Persona from supplying current facts of its own that a post did not state. Things that change over time — who plays where, who did what, what something costs — are no longer filled in from memory; it works from what the post actually says.
🌐 Opening an Account in Chrome (New)
From the menu on the Accounts tab you can open an account directly in Chrome. It opens already signed in and through the account's own proxy, and any verification you solve in that window is written back to the account.
▶️ What's New in the Task Tools
The distribution that has always worked for comments in Bulk Tasks now works for quotes as well: accounts quoting the same post each get a different text, and once the texts run out distribution starts over.
Posting in Tweet Tasks could only be scheduled at minute and hour intervals; we added a per-second option. Please remember that posting back to back at very short intervals can trigger X's spam protection and get the account locked.
▶️ Smaller Screens
The app was designed around a 1400x900 window. On displays like 1366x768 the window opened larger than the screen, the interface felt cramped, and some dialogs had buttons you could not reach.
The window now opens at a size that fits your display, and remembers the size you left it at. On short windows headers, tables and cards get slimmer, leaving more room for the content itself. Dialogs fit on screen, the "Next" and "Back" buttons in the task wizards stay visible on every step, and each step opens from the top.
▶️ The AI Persona Page
We redesigned the persona list. If you run a single persona — and most licences allow exactly one — you now see its status, the last thing it published and its daily budget at a glance. Clicking anywhere on the card takes you to its decisions, chat and settings.
▶️ Infrastructure
We strengthened the connection layer behind web accounts.
▶️ Fixed Issues
- X had removed the DM permission from its user lookup, which was causing problems in DM tasks. That permission is now requested separately.
- We fixed the issue causing the whitelist and blacklist to stop updating on their own after the bulk-add dialog was closed.
- We fixed the issue causing active hours and hourly budget settings not to be applied to Persona tasks.
- We fixed the issue causing workers, caches and state records to be left behind when a task was stopped.
- We fixed the issue causing the task engine to report work it had never actually done.
- We fixed the issue causing replies to be cut short when a model answered slowly.
- We fixed the issue that could leave the application window completely blank.
- We separated the messages shown when an account is suspended, locked, or its proxy connection fails, so you can see directly which problem you are facing and what to do about it.
- We fixed the issue causing the flow to stall during local Chrome login.
- We fixed the issue causing error messages to appear as raw keys instead of translations on some screens.
- We fixed the issue causing the "Include Media Files" option to download nothing while scraping tweets.
- We made various performance and stability improvements.
- We fixed other reported issues.
